AYL iPad Case - The Perfect iPad Folio Case

As I write this iPad Folio Case review on the AYL iPad Case, I should let you know that I have already decided that the AYL iPad Case is The Best iPad Folio Case out there. As you look at those two pictures there can be no doubt that the Yoobao case is the AYL case -minus the secure flap and plus a logo. It's a big difference though, apparently, for the Yoobao case is going nowhere while the AYL version is selling like hot cakes to very happy customers.

Alright, alright, cut the spiel! Nevermind everything you don't get with the AYL iPad case, but what do you get?

Good question, and I will tell you. You get a very well-made, cleverly designed, highly-functional, durable, long lasting and good-looking iPad folio case. You cannot miraculously dock the iPad while in this case, you can't do that with any iPad folio case that I'm aware of, but all docks, features and controls are fully accessible in the AYL case - without having to shift the iPad around in a too-loose case, or trying desperately to insert a fingernail into the tiny misplaced hole of a too-tight and imperfectly fitting case. And when I say all is accessible, I really mean all. The AYL case doesn't cover the light sensor, effectively ruining the brightness auto-adjust function of the screen, nor does the AYL case block the screen toggle or speakers, as so many of the other 'fully accessible' iPad folio cases do.

The iPad is held in place with a partial framing device that does leave the corners of the iPad somewhat exposed. This could be considered a weak area, but as long as the case is made properly otherwise, so that the iPad is not shifting towards the outsides of the case, this is not a problem, and some people claim it will get you better reception that a full-framing case would. (I offer no opinion on that bit of wisdom.)

What I will say is that in the AYL case I don't see the partial framing device as a potential problem. The case is well made, the iPad does not shift about, and so the corners of the iPad will only be exposed to air, which is only dangerous to mummies and old books.

You get all of the convenience of an iPad folio case with a sturdy built-in 'flip' stand that allows you to place the iPad at a convenient angle for video-viewing, slideshow display or typing, all without having the case collapse. The proper fit of the AYL case holds the iPad where it belongs while the case is propped in the viewing or typing angles, but an inner 'Secure Flap' on the AYL case (which is missing on many versions of the Yoobao case) ensures that your sleek iPad will not slide out even when gravity is tempting it.

But the AYL iPad Case isn't just functionally perfect, it's a very good-looking case. Nothing flashy here, no broad range of pretty colors or multiple options in faux finishes to choose from. You get it in either matte black with contrast stitching or a rich light brown. The genuine leather inside and out is soft and smooth, long-lasting pigskin.

That is correct. I said pigskin. Which brings me nicely into my last point. 

The AYL iPad case is a great value.

Okay it's not slink leather or lambskin, but pigskin has long been used in apparel, in the making of gloves and jackets, coats, handbags and wallets. It's a soft workable leather that frankly makes it a great choice. It's also very durable and is the traditional top layer of a fine leather saddle, so chosen for that distinct honor due to its softness, durability against use and weather, and the supple working matter it provided the craftsmen with for application purposes.

Pigskin is a fine material and a good leather that possesses all the best qualities of all the best leathers. It just so happens to also be very affordable.

Leather iPad cases with the quality of design and construction that the AYL leather iPad folio case has generally will cost you around a $100, give or take a few bucks. They can go for much more with a big designer name on them.
