FEBRUARY New Xbox Kinect Game Releases
Dr. Kawashima’s BODY AND BRAIN CONNECTION New Kinect Logic Puzzle Minigames Collection
Dr. Kawashima’s BODY AND BRAIN CONNECTION (Dr. Kawashima’s Body and Brain Exercises in Europe) will be released in North America on February 8th, and just after on the 11th in Europe. Body and Brain Connection is by Namco Bandai, and was released in Japan in November where it's been getting good reviews.
Body and Brain Connection features a special surprise from the classic Namco Bandai name. On this game someone very special makes a guest appearance. It's Pac Man himself, showing up in one the Body and Brain Connection activities.
Though it's rumored there's a Pac Man game coming out for the Kinect, it may be just this cameo appearance on Body and Brain Connection prompting the rumors. So that's a bummer to Pac Man fans, but GameSpot and GameFaqs are still listing it as a separate upcoming game.
Earlier brain games using the Dr. Kawashima character did very well on the DS, but this new Dr. Kawashima brain game is as the title declares a Body and Brain Connection game. Each 'puzzle' or challenge must be completed using your brain and body together. So if you can't walk and chew gum at the same time, you may want to avoid this game!
Better still, buy it and improve your brain and body agility. That's the focus of the game. After analyzing your initial brain and body connection the first time you play the game, the challenge then is to improve your connection and agility via a grading system they call brain age. This is done over time every time you play the game.
You can also play the minigames in compete mode to see who's the most coordinated, and who's the least. It will accomodate up to 4 players. Get quick and nimble with Dr. Kawashima's Body and Brain Connection game for the Xbox Kinect.

BRUNSWICK PRO BOWLING for the Xbox Kinect
Brunswick Pro Bowling is expected out on February 28th. Published by Crave and developed by 505 Games, Brunswick Pro Bowling as played on the Sony Playstation with the Move motion sensor is an ambitious bowling game with a lot to like. The aim here was for a realistic bowling game, and Crave delivers there, but perhaps too much so for the game's own good.
You can't just swing your arm and let the virtual balls fly expecting a strike, no, this game requires practice. Variables include six different bowling venues, three ball sizes and multiple characters all with their own strengths and weaknesses. This isn't about brute force or learning that one move which will work right every time. You've got to practice it, learn the techniques and strategize a bit.
That's what makes Brunswick Pro Bowling so much fun. That said, it also frustrates players with less bowling experience and knowledge. The game does also feature bumper bowling for the little ones.
A few less than well-thought-out quirks existed in the Playstation version, but nothing major despite the learning curve. We can hope they worked those out for the Xbox Kinect release. If so it could be a five-star game. Buy if you like bowling. Don't buy if you dislike having to think.

DANCE ON BROADWAY New Kinect Music and Dance Game
Dance On Broadway, release date early March, was first released over the summer of 2010 for the Wii. If you like showtunes and the stage, acting, dance or song, you'll probably be wanting this one. If Dance On Broadway is not so much your cup of tea, perhaps you'll reconsider when you see the track list. Come on. You can do it. It's just a jump to the left, and then a step to the right.
That's right. Dance On Broadway has the Time Warp song from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. To some of you that will mean nothing. To others it means so many things. Like toast, or rice. And toilet paper.
Dance On Broadway offers 20 song selections from such classics as Cabaret and Mary Poppins all the way up through Hairspray and The Lion King. The full track listing is shown to the right.
Allowing up to four players, you can play alone, compete, or perform duets and ensembles with your family and friends. The Wii version received mixed reviews, and some complaints about the graphics, but mostly good. If you're a dance professional expecting broadway quality choreography, this isn't going to deliver.
If you're looking for casual fun, this is likely to provide. Kids enjoyed the Wii version as well, and this could be a good way to introduce them to an appreciation of theatre.

FANTASTIC PETS New Kinect Virtual Pets Game
Fantastic Pets, release date March 18th, is being developed by Games Studios and THQ. What sets Fantastic Pets apart from other virtual pet games is the ability in Fantastic Pets to play with fantasy, mythical pets, such as unicorns and dragons.
More details to come.

GET FIT WITH MEL B New Kinect Exergame
Get Fit With Mel B - release date is reported to be set for March 31st, although Amazon release date still reads March 15th. Get Fit With Mel B was developed by Lightning Fish Studios and is being published by Deep Silver. Already on the market in Europe, and in North America for the PS3, Get Fit With Mel B features the ex-Spice-Girl leading you in customized workouts on a subtly split screen. Mel works out on the left while you work out on the right.
This is probably the biggest and most important difference between Get Fit With Mel B. and the other Kinect exergames available so far. Being able to see your full image on the screen right next to the trainer allows the user to see for themselves what they're doing wrong and when they've got it right.
You can enter your stats and fitness goals and Get Fit With Mel B will create customized workouts for you. Alternatively you can create your own workouts choosing up to 15 different exercises from the Mel B. library of over 200, and specify from a range the amounts of reps. This is great, but unfortunately you cannot save these self-customized regimes.
You also cannot designate off days. So if you wish to keep the recorded progress accurate and up-to-date users will need to sign in to exercise daily, or fudge it a bit by running multiple workouts on the same day. The 30 minute workouts can be shortened to 15 minutes if you like, and you needn't achieve each exercise perfectly in order to be able to move on.
Some accessories are going to be available to enhance Get Fit With Mel B workouts, but they are not necessary. You can probably expect a couple of bundle options.

MICHAEL JACKSON: THE EXPERIENCE New Kinect Dance and Music Game
Michael Jackson: The Experience, release date April 12th, will be produced by Ubisoft, and is of course one of the most anticipated titles yets. This Xbox 360 Kinect game will have you performing like the man himself. You set the stage and call the shots, cause you're Michael Jackson now. You sing, you dance, you wow the crowd!
With input from the Michael Jackson estate and featuring choreography from his excellent videos, Michael Jackson: The Experience promises to help you Kinect with the King of Pop in a whole new way.
The Michael jackson Experience for Kinect is going to be a single-player game, despite that for the Wii console the game allows up to four players. However, a Ubisoft spokesperson said "On the Wii it’s a dancing game for up to four players. On the Kinect it’s a single-player experience... singing and dancing at the same time. ...And also, you’re owning the stage, you’re in the shoes of the King of Pop.."
In fact you can sing along karaoke style on the Wii Michael Jackson game. But without the superior voice recognition techology of the Kinect Sensor, you're pretty much just singing along. Additionally, on the Kinect Michael Jackson game with the Kinect's breakout full-body motion sensor technology, the player is immersed full body first person style into the game. This of course must make experiencing The Michael Jackson Experience a more interesting and hopefully exhilerating experience on the Kinect.
Known track list is to the right.

Carnival Games: Monkey See, Monkey Do is being developed by 2K Play for Kinect play in April. Monkey See, Monkey Do, also to be known as Carnival Games: In Action abroad, is being built "from the ground up" for the Kinect motion sensor. Carnival Games has long been a Wii favorite, and the Xbox Kinect version will follow the midway theme, if completely rebuilt for Kinect compatibility.
Players will be able to play such old favorites as Milk Bottle Throw, Wheel of Chance, Hoops, Hot Air Balloon Race, Alley Ball and more. You can even have your fortune told. This psychic feat is accomplished via voice recognition, and yes! You can even win prizes!
More details to follow.

Winter Sports 3 for Kinect? - 123Kinect is reporting that the Xbox 360 version of Winter Sports 3 by Zoo Games and due out March 29th will be Kinect compatible. I've seen nothing to verify that yet though. G4 has an advance listing for it which does not indicate any Kinect compatibility for Winter Sports 3. The Amazon listing also fails to mention any Kinect compatibility, so for now we're calling this one a rumor.
Gears of War: Exile? - Epic Games has registered a trademark for Gears of War: Exile along with the logo shown above. Speculation is that there may be a Kinect version.
Forza Motorsports 3? - As noted on 123Kinect, Play.com has listed a Forza Motorsports 3 game for the Kinect. The offering is listed as "Used - Like New." With a Forza Motorsports 4 for the Xbox Kinect due out in the fall, I'm not inclined to buy a lot of stock in this one.
Xbox Kinect PacMan game? - Despite rumors to the contrary, a Pac Man game for the Kinect was never in the works. Namco Bandai produced Body and Brain Connection however, and featured their PacMan character in a minigame there. That seems to be from where the rumor sprang, but GameSpot and GameFaqs are still listing a "Kinect PacMan" game set for release sometime this year.
You Don't Know Jack? - This game will not be Kinect compatible, despite the rampant rumors otherwise. No, not even 'Better with Kinect'. There will be xbox live play support however.
